Grid Connected Solar Power Plant:

Photovoltaic solar system use the light available from the sun to generate electricity and feed this into the main electricity grid to run load as the case may be in case of Grid connected Solar PVplants. As it pumps the generated energy through Solar PVmodules to the grid supply with the help of Grid Connected Solar Inverter / PCU, which runs the connected load in synchronization with grid supply. Hence reduces the grid supply consumption. The term Grid connected itself clarifies that it is necessity to have a grid supply as a carrier of generated energy. In case of grid supply failure Grid connected solar system could not generate the energy&there is no provision for backup also. The energy generated through Grid connected system shall be utilized, if failed to utilize it or can say the load is not consuming the energy respective to the generation it will not be utilized. But excess energy generated could be feeded / pumped to the grid supply under the net metering policy of respective state, (It is presently in an initial stage so, for the benefits to reflect in our accounts it will take some more time). Grid connected solar systems are only feasible where the grid supply is uninterrupted & in healthy condition.

Off Gird Solar Power Plant:

The term “Off Grid” itself gives us an idea of the system working concept. In this case, energy generated from the Solar Photovoltaic Modules will be stored into the storage batteries. It could be generated as per the consumer’s requirement irrespective of solar radiation availability. These systems are normally used where there is a condition of grid supply is unhealthy or load shading prone zone or where the energy is to be utilized before or after the sunshine hours. Now a day’s these off grid solar systems are also working as a hybrid type (Smart Solar PCU) in this technology, the Off Grid Solar PCU is capable to charge the batteries through Solar Photovoltaic modules as well as the grid supply according to the site requirements. It also can pump the excess generated energy to the Grid supply under Net metering policy of respective state (It is presently in an initial stage so, for the benefits to reflect in our accounts it will take some more time).
